When it all Began: Circa 1990
Randy Jones and Ric DiOrio meet at Rocketdyne/Boeing in 1988 and worked together in the tool engineering and manufacturing departments.
Together with an objective to fill a need for advanced cutting tools we engineered our first product line of solid carbide bore bars.
In February 1990 RHJ Tool and Cutter Grinding was founded as a service type with reference to manufacturing new industrial cutting tools per customer specifications and the reconditioning of industrial cutting tools to Original Equipment Manufactures (OEM) recommended specifications.
Researching the local cutting tool industry found six businesses offered this type of service and within a 20 mile area around Canoga Park there were over 300 manufacturing business that required cutting tool service which meant a high demand and low supply for this service was present. Within weeks of starting the word was out that Randy from Roy and Val’s Grinding started his own shop and due to the reputation of quality in work he commanded in the industry, we were flooded with orders and followers. RHJ Tool & Cutter Grinding established about 200 regular customers in a short time from the Greater Western States and employed four full time employees with-in the 1st year.
With business climate constantly changing and realizing a higher demand in new cutting tool technology, Randy with partner Ric DiOrio formed a California Corporation in September 1994. We transitioned into 5 Axis CNC Grinding from manual grinding, added in-house PVD Coating centers with our own application designed processes, laser marking to conform to all quality control traceability systems, CAD system, Video Inspection System and now run unmanned thru robotic technology to extent lower costs to our customers. We provide our customers with easy of ordering by being an integrated one-stop solution with all products and services done in-house for you’re your convenience.
Today, Xceliron Corp combines 80+ years of knowledge in the industrial cutting tool field with emphasis in Aerospace, Commercial, Medical, and Automotive sectors. We are a solution driven company providing engineered products and services through on-site lean solutions in manufacturing applications and as an integrated supply chain partner.
